We want to start a church where our chief purpose and reason for our existence is the glory of God.

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! (Ps 115:1)

In my quiet times I’ve been working my way through the Old Testament chronologically. I’m using a reading plan in the YouVersion app that orders the Bible chronologically. I’m coming to the end of David’s reign and the plan weaves the Psalms throughout his life. I read Psalm 115 this morning.

David was the greatest king of Israel. And yet his life was far from perfect. David loved God and followed him but was not steadfast in his love and faithfulness. David fell many times. And yet God remained constant. God deserves all the glory for his steadfast love and faithfulness.

God has been so faithful to us as well. It is a remarkable thing to think back over the last year and the journey he’s taken our family on. He has provided at every step. He’s provided both spiritually and with basic provision. Every need has been met and his love has been felt over and beyond anything we could have imagined. And all to and for God’s glory because we have wavered many times along the way.

He has called us to this work and he has faithfully provided. We’ve had a series of very successful vision meetings and God has really opened a number of doors for us. We are now up to 22 committed adults to our core group! And it has been great to see God bring us people who are filling needs and helping to grow the core! We are still hopeful that we can get enough people in order to turn our efforts toward launching late this fall. Please continue to spread the word!

Our next vision meeting is on August 5 at 6:30pm at the McLean Bible Church Loudoun campus. (register here) Right after that meeting we’ll have another core group meeting. All are welcome to both meetings. Please let those that live in the Ashburn area know!

Come and hear our vision for Harvest Bible Chapel. Our greatest desire is to see God glorified and worshiped by more and more people. Jesus, to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!

Remember, YOU ARE LOVED!
