Expect something very different!
1. Relationships first, theater style second
We gather weekly on Sunday mornings in homes for what we call Intentional Community. Jesus commands his followers to love one another as he loved us and that the world will know us by our love for one another. If we are going to love one another like that then we can't just sit in rows facing the front. Church life should be interactive and involve everyone. Every Sunday we'll gather for Intentional Community and about one time per month we'll have an Intentional Gathering with a worship band.
One of the greatest things we do as a church is experience God and His glory. We believe that God meets with us and reveals Himself to us as we experience Him and glorify Him through music, prayer, and the study and application of the Bible. When our lives are truly focused on God it changes everything!
"But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:16–18
3. Children Involved
Each Intentional Community will handle children differently depending on needs and facilities. We want to involve children as much as reasonably possible. Why? Because if they have accepted and believed the gospel then they should start learning to be a part of the Body of Christ. There is no such thing as Holy Spirit, Jr. and believing children should start learning to both give and receive the grace that God gives through his people. We'll have a rotation of trusted adults to provide childcare each week for preschoolers.
4. Family atmosphere (yes, food too!)
We see our community like a family. It isn't something you join like a country club. Everyone is a part and we expect to both give and receive from one another. We'll start every week with brunch together to help foster relationship and to help provide for one another.
One time a month we'll gather for a bigger celebration and worship service. This will be an opportunity for each Intentional Community to come together as a whole. The worship band will lead us in our favorite worship songs and we'll share testimonies of how God has worked and is working.
This worship gathering will happen the first Sunday of each month. The location is TBD. Reach out for details.
